warrior hits rev limiter
#1
I have a '00 warrior that is stock. The problem is on the high-end of every gear the motor hits the rev limiter. I'v tried a new cdi, re-jetted
the carb and still the same problem. The parking brake has been removed from the handel bars. how do i fix it from hitting the rev limiter?
hoe do i check if the entire parking brake is removed? PLEASE HELP THIS IS REALLY FRUSTRATING. RUNS LIKE #^$*!!!!!!!!!

Warriors and Wolverines do not have rev limiters to be truthful, the only thing that dictates how high the engine can rev is the head. It does have the parking brake limiter though that you are talking about and this might be the case. This is a safety feature of some sort. I havent had this problem so I can tell you how to fix it because Ive never had too. THere are people on here who have had this before, hopfully they can explain.

The engine will rev out only as high as the intake and exhaust ports permit it not to mention that it only has two valves. There comes a time when when you get so much air going that the ports are too small and there is too much pressure because there is alot of air being forced through a tiny hole for the engine to rev any higher.

it sounds like you're floating the valves, can be fixed by installing some harder springs

I was told that this bike had a rev limiter. Well anyway, I checked the brake and the wires have been cut off and all the parking brake
components removed. When you ride on the top end of any gear it will break up ( goes like buup buup buup ). There is white smokle that comes out of the exhaust also. Is this a carb adjustment, or maybe a vale gone bad. I had someone check out all the electrical
so I know thats not the problem. I brought it to the place I bouight it from and they can't figure it out. They thought it was electrical.
If it is a carb adjustment please let me know if you know the factory settings. If you think it's a valve how do you test it. I also checked the timing on it and it's at top dead center. Thanks guys I appreciate it very much. So does my kid (he's got an artic cat 90)

I have set the carb back to the factory jets. The entire carb has been removed and broken down and cleaned. It has a new slide and has been re-torqued and put back on with care. There are no tears in any of the rubber holders.
