Alba hittin' the pipe?
#1
Anyone out there purchase a quad through Alba racing? I called today to check on the Alba YFZ 450, and I was told that the "alba kit" (which includes pipe, stickers, K&N, etc, etc) isn't ready yet, but you can purchase the quad ahead of time, and bring it back to have the kit installed when they're ready... I asked about a price and the guy said $6800+ shipping. After some discussions on shipping, I was then informed that there were other "miscellaneous" fees including:
$45.00 for licensing (no big deal)
$1298.00 for assembly ($1298.00 HOLY FARKING COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Maybe you guys can set me straight here (gently please), but are they out of line, or am I? Their add reads something like:
ALBA QUADS INCLUDE: Performance Pipe, K&N Filter, Pro-Flow Intake, Custom Graphics Kit, Matching Gripper Seat Cover, TAG Aluminum Handlebar, More! FOR THE STOCK QUAD PRICE! (MSRP price plus applicable fees)
Stock Quad Price? How much did the rest of you pay? They want $8800.00 out the door... doesn't sound like a stock quad price to me...
I think their ad is VERY misleading if "applicable fees" is $1500-$2000. Couldn't you do a better job buying a quad locally (keeping your $$ local), and add the parts you want to it, yourself.

but then they would make no money. They obvioussly are putting the price of that kit into the assembly fee. Its all an advertising trick, they are good with their words and I'm sure that they had many customers who fell for it, but hey, they never lied did they.
