Does anyone here have a hpd pipe and muffler (silencer), if so what kind? Does it make a significant differnece in power? I have a sport 400l and am contomplating buying the pipe and silencer. Was it worth the moneY? we are also debating buying the TRAIL CLUTCH KIT by hpd, but i would like to know if it is worth it? what is the power increase?

I have the HPD trail pipe, aluminum silencer and clutch. Frankly, I was disappointed in the results. The clutch has a higher engagement RPM and the bike now pulls harder from a stand still. It is now easier to wheelie, but the performance gain vs. $ spent was not good.

If you do nothing else, the silencer has a good throaty pitch and sounds much better than the stock setup. But then again, $120 for the silencer alone was steep.

If doing it again, I would try the RCR kit. There have been many satisfied RCR customers on this forum and they say the kit really is impressive.

I have just recently put a HPD Trail Pipe and a HPD perfarmance clutch. It was indeed pretty pricy. but they fit like a glove. The low end and top end is alot better. I just rode it memorial weekend and i was impressed. It easily lifts the front wheels. And seems quite a bit faster.

I am a very satisfied RcR Stage 1 owner. Although I do like the looks of the HPD nickel plated pipe, plus they offer a forestry approved silencer.

I like my HPD pipe, It fits better than the RCR pipe, is quieter and will allow the use of the stock silencer / spark arrestor.
As for the clutch kit, I kept the stock weights, and could have simply bought the HPD6 Primary and Violet Secondary Springs and saved a couple of bucks. The difference in the way the quad runs, is night and day, even with the stock silencer.

Look at all the different places every body is from (States). Keep in mind the areas one person rides might not be the same as the next guy,(trails, hills, flatlander, dunes all require a different part of the power band), different pipes do different things (bottom, mid top). Everyone seems to forget this little matter.
