Well I had the wife all sold on a new YFZ. It was gonna be my wifes/my back-up bike. But the wife shot it down after she discovered it had no reverse. Stupid Yamaha! Don't they realize that us fast Rappy owners need the tame YFZ equipped with reverse for our wives? LOL. So now she's thinking a Wolv. How does the Wolverine do at the dunes? Will it be able to keep up with the sport ATV's cruising through the bowls? Are paddles needed? Do they perform better, in the dunes, with a Warn 424 kit?

 

I ran my Wolverine in the dunes at Silver Lake, and Little Sahara, had lots of fun, climbed dunes just fine, not the best at carving corners with full time 4wd, a 424 kit would make it a lot more fun for that. I also got some pretty good air off some of the dunes, impressed the guys riding with me with a Banshee and a 250X.

 

my wolvy runs great in the sand. great for hill climbing too.
can get around 5 to 6 feet of air with it.
not bad for 470 lbs. you cant turn super sharp in sand at high speeds
though since you always have that pull in the front from awd.
a warn 424 would cure this though.
never tried paddle on it.
i thought it was just fine the way it was.
(im actually running a used left rear tire too!)
