Hitch ATV Hauler???

Howdy,
I think you are talking about a Louisiana Guard Dog. You can get them from High Lifter or they have their own web site. I use one myself and it is the only way to secure a quad in a truck. You can also lock the quad in the truck with it. Have a goodun.

I haven't seen and ATV hauler for a hitch.
Check the class on your receiver. Class 3 can have 500 lb tongue wieght, class 4 hitches 1000 lb, class 5 1200lbs. If you put the weight of an ATV at that much distance away from the point that the hitch was designed for, it would probably put more than double the effective stress on the hitch and vehicle frame, yet not load the vehicle's springs. I wouldn't do it unless it was a class 5, and the truck was a real one with a heavy frame like a 3/4 or 1 ton.
It would only take someone 30 mintes to weld up an ATV carrier for a hitch.

I don't know if its what you are talking about or not, but I've seen, in the back of some of the ATV magazines, a hauler, that they claim they can put a motorcyle ( showed a Harley ) or quad on, I believe the ones that take the most weight use more than 1 reciever mount ... i.e. a reciever on each frame rail, plus the one in the center ???...I think it pivots on the center 1 & locks into the other 2 ???...I personally wouldn't want that much wieght out that far from the rear tires on my 3/4 ton, maybe on my 1 ton, with the duel rear wheels...WAM
