loud noise when I take 03 eiger out of 4 w/d
#1
after takeing my eiger out of 4 w/d I can go anywhere from 10 ft. to a 100 yards and all at once it makes a loud popping noise like metal breaking. I think the 4 w/d lever may be out of adjustment (it has 900 miles on it) I would appreciate your input.
Does any one know how the lever is adjusted? It's an 03 foot shift eiger.
Thanks

I can relate to that, When I first got my 02 Eiger 4x4 5spd when I took it out of 4WD it was out, now you have to ride around for a lil bit for it to come out of 4wd. Dont understand it, other than that havent had any problems.

4wd cable needs to be adjusted. Peel back rubber boot behind 4x4 lever, there is a threaded adjuster there. I jacked the front end up a so I could see when it engaged and disengaged.... Works good now!!

I also have a question about 2003 Eigers. The plastic that is right beside the foot appears as if it is melting. What the hell is going on? Also, will this be covered by my warrenty? I got the Eiger in July. My Dad's Eiger isn't melting lol! Seems like the Eigers are having a lot of problems on this site, or is it just me?
Thanks to all!

A lot of problems? LOL. Things like adjustment of cables or plastic problems do not add up to a lot of problems! Most problems I have seen on any of the boards for the Eiger have been very minor. You post them so as to get a quick answer from someone who may have already dealt with it or knows a little more than you do about a subject. Have you tried to look at what is behind the melted place (when it isn't hot!) to see what is going on? Has the plastic been pushed out of place or anything in that area? Has a heat shield maybe come loose?
