Default Sportsman 500 repair question

I'm trying to replace a rear cv axle on a Polaris 500HO sportsman. I have the new axle in hand. I was told you could just pull hard to get the old one out. I know it has a spring clip on the teeth going into the gearbox. Any tips on removing the old one? Anyone that has done this repair I would appreciate a reply.

Thanks!

I have never had the rear out but the dealer mech said there is a c-clip around the rear that you need a snap ring plier to get off, but he sais he has gotten them off with a small screwdriver. Good luck.

The rear axle should just pull out with a sharp tug but unfortunately most have rusted a little and need to be carefully pried out.
