Default 2002 & Up oil filters.....

I own a 2001 DS.... but I want to upgrade to the newer style oil filter. Anyone know where I can get the cover and the bolts to use the new oil filter? Part numbers? I used to order from Parkeryamaha but thier site is change and no way to contact them other than via phone.

Not sure if the parts manual I have is for the 2000 or 2001 style but, any dealer can get them.

Cover - 711 210 411
or Cover - 711 610 230???

Also, get a new o-ring while you are at it - 711 650 500

Only the 2000's have the shorty filter. Everything else 2001 and newer is the longer filter you want. I looked and came up with the same P/Ns as DuneMe so you'll want to check into both of those. If I think of it the next time I do an oilc hange, I'll look on the inside of the cover for the P/N.

Sounds like a fair chunk of change, but worth it. I don't think enough can be said about adding more filtration to your oil system in this manner. There is no down side to having better oil filtration.
