Holeshot Module
#2
it removes the timing retard that Kawasaki put into bottom end of the CDI to make the quad safer for inexpirienced riders... makes the quicker to 15 - 20 mph... it has a tendancy to wheelie easier if you can get traction...

there are several manufacturers of the "frequency modulators"... IMO... Diamong G Racing offers one of the best values with thier module... if you do a search of hole shot modules you'll find much much more on them... they are around $100.00 US... are easy to install... I don't keep any of the phone numbers or web sites handy, but I'm sure someone else will post a link or the number for you...WAM

Is it just me, or does anyone else think their fan runs less often with the holeshot on?
My fan ran less than 2 grizzlies, a kodak and a Sportsman 700 the other day (less than each one, not put together). It used to run a lot.
Banach, Get the one from Rayinst, that is a good deal.

I don't know if this makes sence or not, but I was talking to a mechanic the other day about the modulator, and he seem to think that the modulator would make the bike run cooler when driving at low speeds. He said that by Kawasaki retarding the timming on the bottom end, it actually makes the bike run hotter since it's always being restricted and the bike is working more. By installing this module, he seem to think that this would make the bike run cooler since this restriction is removed.
Take the high and low gear on the P650. If you are running the bike through some slow tight trails, the bike seems to run hotter if you are in low gear, then if you are in high gear since the bike seems to be working harder. This could be a good example of running without the modulator and with it. When you have the modulator, it's almost like you are running in high gear all the time.

I have noticed my fan not running much anymore. I don't have water wetter in my rad, I didn't wrap the exhaust. I haven't done anything except install the 2003 rad shield.
When I got the 650, the fan ran continuously (almost).
After I set the needles richer (5th notch DJ needle), the fan stopped running so much.
After I got this holeshot, I have noticed the fan running even less.
I haven't timed it. I don't have any accurately obtained data. But, I know it doesn't run a lot. Most of the time when I stop and shut it off, the fan doesn't come on. I thought that it went bad so I let it sit idling after riding a long time, and the fan came on.

NYROC... you must be babying that thing, ...LOL... I was told the retard makes the engine run hotter... don't know if the technical reason is that being retarded, it holds the exhaust gasses in longer, or ??? but usually the more efficiently an engine is running, the less heat it makes & the less fuel it consumes per a set unit of work...WAM
