2 or 4 stroke carbs?
#1
Does any one know how to tell me the difference?Between a carb for a 2 stroke and a carb for a 4 stroke? I would think a carb wouldn't care what motors it's attached to. All the carb Guro's or just anyone that know would be great.

2 stroke carbs have a "power" jet. 2-strokes require additional fuel when the Power band kicks in. A 2 stroke engine does not burn all of its fuel, it goes out into the pipe and then the PIPE forces the unburnt exhaust back into the cylinder and pressurizes the head cuasing a "power band". It almost like turbo charging. Anyway thier has to be enough fuel to let this happen, and at the right time also. 2 strokes run on a small amount of fuel till a certain RPM is reached than ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!
You can not run a 2 stroke with a 4 stroke carb. But it is possible to run a 4 stroke with a 2 stroke carb (on alky).
Bigger.

That would be my guess LOWBOWTIE.
This new carb I have has a power jet. I wonder if it is the same thing?
I have no clue of the differance either.
