setting valves on rancher
#2
You should wait until you hit 20 hrs and go get it done if they are a reputable dealer with a good service department (especially if you don't know how to get to the valves).
The going price is about $150.00 and I have seen it be as much as $180.00. Also, they should change the engine oil/filter as well as front and rear differential oils.....If they do all of that for $100 then it's a good deal.
You probably should get it done at least once since it's a new ride and you want it to last.
Good luck with your RANCHER.

I performed valve adjustment service on my 400EX, one of my exhaust valves was off by .001 inches the other three were fine. It was a lot of work for .001 inches. If you've never adjusted valves before, I don't recommend learning how to do them now. The engine must be at TDC on the compression stroke using the timing mark.
