how many horses will dyno jets and fmf pipes add?

Hard to put numbers on something like that. If you are talking about a totaly stock quad putting in a new main jet, air filter, and slip on pipe will definatley create more power. Putting on a full pipe (header and slip on) will on only creat a loss in power.

(hondanutcase)- i disagree that a header and pipe will create a loss in power as you put it,if a header and pipe are added to a stock motor and jetted appropriately you would see a greater potential for gains than with just a slip on.i have used the powerbomb header system and i have two of them now and they work very well to add power while at the same time reducing decibel levels.(warrior350cntuch-)you should see at least a few horsepower gain from what you want to add but you should also add a better breathing air filter to compliment the header and slip on in order to get the most out of your new exhaust system. i would try a few different sprockets to go along with your new exhaust because you could add a lot of performance there as well by just changing your gearing.

Was this full system put on your Raptor? I know that a Raptor would benifit from installing a full system, But we are talking about a stock 400 not a 660. I tried the full system with my 400ex and ended up taking off the headpipe and just sticking with the slip on (I will install it again someday when I modify the motor). My local honda dealer/performance shop told me not to do it. I should have listened. Just my opinion , but I am speaking from experience.

dude, u and ur dealer r way off. they would not make headpipes that lower ur power. there is absolutely no point in that. adding a headpipe and silencer with correct jetting, and a new highflow air filter ( i reccommend K&N) will add power.

Adding to much air flow to an engine that can't use it, you will lose horsepower and low end torque. Facts are facts.

A header and exhaust will add alot more hp than just an exhaust alone if jetted correctly for elavation and as long as you take off your air filter box lid and other things suggested by the manufacturer of the exhaust. As long as you are taking in enough air you will see major gains. You could run a bike without a filter at all and you'll notice it runs better untill something gets into it!
Also look in a magizine or online for specs about exhausts such as the white bro's e series... they claim that the slip on will give a 2-4hp increase and the full system will give a 5-7hp increase not decrease![b]
Why do you think a whole exhaust system costs more? Do you honestly think a company would sell a full system that decreased power????? If they did people would be idiots to buy it!

The key words are THEY CLAIM You show me one dyno test that you have witnessed that shows a 2-4 horsepower gain for slip on or 5-7 horspower gain for a full system on a stock engine. Remember for most quads we are only talking 27 - 30 hp stock. There is no way you will get that kind of a horsepower gain from that small of an engine from simply adding a pipe. Yes by doing things like rejetting, adding a new filter and pipe will help, but that will only do so much. You have to realize these specs given by the manufactuer are only potential hp gains (meaning not necessarily from a stock engine). It's just like saying you get more horsepower from burning racing fuel in your quad (yet another un-true statement).
I have drag raced many stock ex's after putting on my pipe (hardly a difference). If I had 2- 4 hp more than stock I should be able to walk away from them.
more realistic ad a pipe and get a 2% - 4% horsepower gain from stock.
