Default clear radiator hoses

OK I remember someone talking about buying the clear radiator hoses at Home Depot and tonight I went looking and they did have clear hose but it wasnt "ribbed" and I was afraid that it would collapse under suction so I guess my question is, does the stuff at home depot look like the same hose that they sell for $100?? I explained what it looked like and they all looked at me like I was from another planet and told me that if it wasnt on the isle with all the other rubber hose that they didnt carry it. Can someone please give me a pic of the stuff they got from Home Depot? Thanks

well when i looked into that awhile back and the hoses i looked at when you'd go to make a sharp bend like all the hoses on there have it would almost kink, the only place you could probably put that is the return line, i don't remember what clear ones i was lookin at a picture of but they were some kind of wierd hose, like a flex hose, like u know in a straw where it flexs, that part, the whole hose looked like that, hope u know wat i'm tryin to say

Hi Lason, I wouldnt try it if you can tell the hose is thin or wont be able to take heat, you might be ok trying it, but i would check the hose out real good before you put it on. if you try it and the hose doesnt work while riding, just buy some radiator fluid and put the regular tubes back in. good luck with the hose. BTW, nice pic.

I understand what your saying but like I said above, other member have found and used it and I think I just found a pic of the ones they were using and it was that clear hose with fibers woven in the hose for strength but I want completely clear, o well. By the way as far as the pic of the girl on the bike check my gallery, it has the full size pic in there.

Lason,
I tried the Home Depot hoses they dont work very well. they do collaps under heat. really bad where they bend. Alba and I think Rocky mt, atv sells the $100 hoses. I called the manufacture to see if I could get them cheeper they only sell through distributers not to public. Alba clear hoses They do look cool though

I think someone else tried the clear hoses from Home Depot and as I recall it went like this:

1st test: OK! no real trouble.
2nd test - on a weekend trip: Hoses didn't work out, wasted a weekend trip.

I don't think I'd bother with the cheap ones, glad to hear you're going to spring for the expensive ones - it'll cost a lot more than $100 if you waste an entire weekend!

Or if the damn things collapsed and ended up overheating my quad and hurting the motor. Yeah I have decided I am keeping the stockers on for now but will be adding some of Alba's when I rebuild my bike this winter. Thanks guys!
