Does anyone know what the ball park price is on a very clean good running 1984 freshly pro painted, great running, tight, no problems but with a worn back tire Honda xr 500? The guy wants $1100.00 for it. Is that reasonable?

 

Little high with the rear tire being bad.

I would factor in ther cost of getting the tire replaced or take a couple of hundred dollars off the asking price.

 

For an 84 bike i would pay over $800. You have to think of resale value. His price for an 84 bike is too high. To be honest he will be lucky if he gets $800 for it even in that condition.

I think he may have listed his under retail value, which is the price you would expect to pay at a dealer in
very good running condition.

But since this is a private party i would use the trade-in value, at the very most $550, especially with the back wheel problem.
Keep in mind, this is almost 20 years old. Most 1984 cars aren't worth that much. lol

 

after i broke my leg on my 83' XR500R that had some mods, I sold it (not in the best shape) for $600 back in 1993. That bike kicked my butt, but then again i was only a sophmore in high school
