Launching a raptor(drag race)

Launching a raptor(drag race)
I am wondering how everyone launches there raptors in a drag race. I have the few minor mods done but want to try things for launches. I usually just rev in 1st gear and get on the tank and dump it. Is there a better way?

I had to basically sit on the gas tank with my stock swingarm length but I would rev it and dump it in second and let it spin for for a second then get towards the back end for more traction.

I can't dump the clutch on mine......the shredders get too goood of traction for that.......it just bites and either sends me sky ward or it bogs.......
I have to hold it on the floor and feather the clutch for about 10' then dump it.......

Thats nutz Ward. Ever try dumpin it in 4th just to see what she would do? Hey sorry to kinda change the subject slowwarrior but anyone know actually how hard it is on your clutch dumping it in 2nd rather that 1st? I would like to know ...

I'll agree with Big Scary. If I don't feather the clutch, I'm looking @ the sky, plus I feel it is less destructive on the drive train.

I sit as far back as possible on the seat, hold the throtle wide open in second, and when the light hits yellow I let her rip.... Never had a problem.... Ow yea I have a wheelie bar by the way [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
Before I got my wheelie bar I would do the same thing except I would sit up on the tank, and hope like HELL that it broke traction. LOL

You an English teacher? You don't have a red pen that you refer to as your "Red Dragon" do you? My American Literature teacher in collage used to do that. I would get my papers back and they had more red on them then they did black or white! LOL
But to answer your question... Yes that is probably what I meant, but I'm not sure grammer sure as He|| isn't one of my strong points just ask my old proffesor! LOL
