how hard is it to allign my clutches on the scrambler?

my clutches are all out of whack.. and i've heard to have somebody that knows what they're doing to allign them, and then i've heard that it's quite simple that if i bought the tool that i could do it myself?? what do you think? local dealership wants 60 bucks to allign them... sound fair?? that's 1 hour of labor..

If you're not in the habit of removing the motor/trans a lot for mods, it's probably more bang for the buck to let the dealer do it. Hot Seat and I think Aaen, both sell alignment tools. Hot Seat even has a simple, yet nifty crank to trans centering jig. They all work great!

Its not too hard! I got my clutch alignment tool from Hotseat performance.
Its a long thin piece of metal about 16" long with one end notched to fit
over the primary clutch. After you take the clutch cover off the tool fits over
the back side of the primary clutch. The other end of the tool should touch
the back side and outside edge of the secondary clutch. Thats with the tool
laying in almost a horizontal postion. Now, there should be a very small
gap about 1/8 of an inch between the front edge of the tool and far left
side of the back edge of the secondary clutch. I hope that makes some
sense because I can't draw this. So if the tool is touching both edges of
the back of the secondary clutch or the gap is more than 1/8 inch then you
have to losen all the engine mounting bolts and shim the engine in the
direction that you need to go. Its usually the engine mount on the bottom
in front of the engine that you will shim. Tighten your engine back up and
re-check the gap with the alignment tool.
If I missed something or left something out I hope someone will step in!
