Default 2-stroke / 4-stroke?

got a 500 sportsman and was considering a scrambler 500 since they seem to be a little more agile . Just wondering if anybody could tell me how much different the 2- stroke was compared to the 4-stroke as far as pick up and such. And if the 2-stroke is much easier to get more power out of it.

If pick up and power is what your after, then go with the 2-stroke. You'll plateau with the 4-stroke quickly and then it will cost big bucks to get power. The 2-strokes can be done in steps, but just a few small things can make a big change.Bubba

Hey keep your Sportsman and find you a used 400 Sport and you will have the best of both worlds.

Just to clarify the Scrambler 500 is a 4 stroke. It is the same motor as your sportsman. I like my Scrambler better than the Sportsman for the snappiness and agility. Both are righteous rides though. The 400 2 stroke is a decent motor, but lacks the low end grunt of the 4 stroke. It is faster and can be built for much more HP than the 500.
