Best tires for '97 Fourtrax 4x4?
#1
I'm looking into getting new tires for my Fourtrax 300. My riding is mainly farm, trail, mud, and some snow... Actually, my biggest thing is mud, I love it, but some of the riding is on pavement and hard trails aswell. I'm looking for something like the Bear Claw, or ITP Blackwater but I'm not sure how those would hold up on the pavement. What ever it is has to be able to ride smooth and ware well on pavement. I need atleast a 4 ply and would love to have the agressive style that would handle anything that I can find to throw at it. I would also want to go taller but I didn't want to go with the tire kits. Can I go 27" on stock without hitting the fenders?, or is there anything else I can do to get a little more ground clearence?... Thanks for you help. You can also email me at jaykbi@fullnet.com....
Thanks again

Well I would suggest a tire from Maxxis, I had put a set on my blaster and they worked great. I know that its not what your looking for but I was impressed with the quality and durability of the sport tire... so I guess their utility tire must be good as well. As far as going with a 27 inch tire ...that may be a little too much strain on the 300 motor.... I have a 300 honda as well and a jump from 25 to 27 is a little big.
As for making it a little taller, I think you can get a product that goes inbetween the shock and the spot it connects to the a-arm to make the bike a little taller.
