I had herd that this is a Big Gun proto type, Big Gun made some boxes that had the timming to advance, ran realy kick over 4000 rpm but crummy under4000 rpm. ironrod should know more about it.

 

These CDI's are all prototypes - that did not make it into production. They do not have the name Big Gun on them for a reason. I managed to get my hands on one prototype for the Baja, and other dealers were able to find a few for the standard. The timing is too advanced for low RPM ops, but not bad at all for racing at high rpm. Think of this CDI as more of a novelty rather than a unit that is something you can keep in there all the time. The price is low for a reason ... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] . The production units are excellent, the units on Ebay should be considered sub-standard, but someone might find a use for them in a racing application.
