I am 13 year old and weigh about eighty pounds and am 4 11 i think im gonna sell my 400 polaris and get a 250ex (because i cant handle the 400) is the 250ex a good quad. will i grow out of it i like a year. will i get bored of it? or if you know of a better 4 stroke auto clutch quad please tell me

 

man, you will be disapointed from the speed differences of the 2 quads. I would not go lower than a 300ex if your coming from a polaris 400.

auto clutch is for dumbarses, i got a 250x, got on it and in the first 2 minutes i was shifting perfectly fine. dont waste your money on a 250ex...

 

you will learn how to shift and stuff within an hour. You will probably stall a few times in the trails trying to work the clutch while going over obstacles or something but just fire it up and try again. Dont let a manual clutch stop you from buying a quad

Never down grade from a larger displacement ATV to a smaller ATV you won't be happy with the results.
Also one of my buddy's kids has a 250ex, it is an ok quad for a small kid thats about eight. If i were you I'd move up to at least a 300ex.

 

sorry for resurrecting(sp) an old forum, but why does everyone always dis the 250ex?? i know its a beginners quad and almost pointless to have, but what if u cant afford anything else? and besides(although kind've stupid) but u can get a lot of mods for these and make them just as good as a slightly modded 300ex...these little 250's are fun as hell to screw around on, if ur going to race then ya i'd consider something bigger but i am planning on doin some racing with my 250 after i get some shocks and an axle... but it pisses me off how ppl can dis a quad so much but they're so much fun to wheelie and put around on
