My friend told me a couple of weeks ago that honda was looking at using the XR-650 motor in a 400ex chasis. Then I read in two new magazines the same rumor. Could this be true?

 

Who knows?? I was hoping for a 650 this year, because I am a desert rider. On the other hand, the 450 does more with less (displacement and weight), so maybe the 450 will be all I will ever need. Look at little 250R's beating Raptors and DS's in every desert race!!

I have to say, from a financial point of view, if I was sure there was a 650 coming out in 05, I might skip the 450 and just wait another year. BUT, history has shown that you can grow old waiting for Honda!! Guess I'll have to get one of each.

 

I also heard it in dirtwheels, ya'll have pretty much covered it, they are evedentally going to make it to compete with the raptor.

 

probably more a wish than an opinion but....i think that honda will surprise with a 650ex a couple months after the 450r and surprise the whole atv industry so they have more time without other companies jumpin in on the action...only have to compete with the "craptor" [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] well...i hope this comes true [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Has Honda ever come out with anything mid year??? I don't think we will see anything until next fall.

If Honda made a 650ex, their whole lineup would be complete, I think they would do it. Honda should bring back the Odysey, and put a 450r engine in it.

Now this throws everything off for me, I had plans to get a 450r when it comes out, but what if Honda makes a 650ex and it's better!! What will I do!?!?!?

 

Honda would be stupid not to bring out a 650 to compete with the raptor for the large honda guys. Although, I dont think it will be for a couple of years if they did. They don't want to lose any sales on the 450. Right now everyone's gonna buy a 450, because they dont think Honda will come out with a 650, they could double their sales, because right now people buy the 450, in a couple years, most who bought the 450 will also buy the 650.
