I read, "It takes some trimming but is worth it." I'm wondering if it is the hose or somthing else they trimmed.

You just have to trim the NAPA hose so that it fits right. Piece of cake to do.

I did not use the NAPA hose, too rich for my blood (ha,ha) and went to AUTOZONE, took the air box in and had the parts guy look at all his radiator hoses and match the angle and diameter of the stock snorkle. I then took the stock snorkle and cut it off right after the water trap, so that I could retain that function, and then made the radiator hose match it. I slipped it over the stock snorkle and used a hose clamp and some silicone to to seal it all up. Put it back on the machine, works great!

No part #, the guy at the counter was semi-retarded (no offense, please) and this was a hard proposition for him since he wanted to look it up in his computer and I could not give him the info to do that. But, the closest NAPA to my house is about 20 miles away and I called 3 of them, none had it in stock, I would have to go in and prepay and they would order it for next day. Seemed like way too much hassle, so I went to Autozone on a whim and was able to find one (actually had several) that would work.

Jetting is a four letter word for me... I did change the jetting, but I also did the NYROC mod to the exhaust at the same time. Since then (about 6 months ago), I have used washers to space needles, changed jets all the way to a 148 (I ride at 8,000' and up) and at present (and 6 jetting changes later), I am all the way back to stock 138/142 w/ 3 turns and all is well.

What led me to start playing with jetting was the logic of more air in and out means I need more fuel, also it runs hot (on the left head pipe and the CVT on the right) and that led me to believe it was lean, but apparantly it wasn't, the Prairie just runs hot.

So, anyway, I would not change the jetting if you just change the snorkle...
