YFZ Twist throttle
#1
Has anyone added a twist to their yfz yet? I'm hearing that the dirt bike twist will bolt right on. Has anyone tried it? Is there any kind of electical connections to the carb you have to mess with? Any help would be great. The stock thumb throttle sucks.

I've just ordered one from Motion Pro. After I install it, I'll let you know.
Are you happy with you YFZ ??? I just got mine form the dealership, and went straight to work on a foreign country, so there she is lying on the garage ....
Cheers

I have one from Motion pro on my YFZ.
If your interested in a twist, I have mine (used once) that I will sell for $30 plus shipping. Cost $46 plus shipping at Alba Yamaha. It is the CR PRO model and has a 70 degree twist from idle to WOT on the YFZ. Orginal box and all instructions included... PM me if your interested. Install is a snap and I will be glad to walk you through any install difficulties.
I not selling it because I don't like twist throttles. It is because Motion Pro has offered to build me a custom twist with exactly the amout of rotation I want. I am going with a 55 degree one of kind twist for my YFZ for the type of riding, handlebars and environment I ride in.

So far I am extremely happy with the YFZ. I had always been a die hard Honda guy, so I was a little sketchy on buying a Yamaha., But after I rode a buddies, I was hooked. It made my 250R seem ancient. We have a group full of 250R riders, most of them tricked out to some degree, and everyone who rode the 450 came back with a smile on thier face and needless to say, there are a few more 250's up for sale. You can't argue with a quality product. I paid $6899 otd from Power Yamaha in Sublimity Oregon. It is quite a bit of cash, But, I got $4000 out of my '88 250r, so it was'nt too big of a hit to the wallet.

the motion pro vortech on the raptor will have a different degree rotation than on the YFZ due to the amount of cable pull differences between the two.
