laster questions from a newbie.

Hi, I just had a few questions. I bought a blaster, I believe its a 94 from my cousin for 50 dollars. I was told it would need a magneto too run?? I plan on doing the work myself. i have never worked on an atv before bjut I am an auto mechanic, so I think with some time I can figure it out. But it's pretty beat up, back brakes are gone, one front wheel has no bearing at all, no foot pegs or nerf bars, missing shifter lever, brake lever and hand brake lever. Wireing has been cut and taped back together. Is this thing even worth messing with??? also cluthc feels soft is this normal for an atv???

if it was me, i wouldnt mess with it, youd put so much time and money into it that youd be a lot better off just buying a used quad that works. i have an 03 blaster myself and one of my fave things about it is the very light clutch, so i wouldnt worry about that. as to the rest, its up to you, your clock, and your wallet.

Anything is worth fixing if you have the time and money. You can get everything off of e-bay for the blaster and not spend a fortune through the Yamaha Dealer.
If you buy a new Blaster that is fine but for the cost of the new blaster you could also buy a very good used Banshee for the same price.
Also if you are an auto mechanic working on these two-strokes is a brease, belive me. I knew nothing of ATV's about three years ago. Just buy a manual and you will be fine.
