what kinds of gains should i be expecting from a stage 1 hotcam
#1
should it be faster on top end and midrange if so how much where will i see the power gain at. can i tell a difference once i install it. will it hurt my low end?
#2
yeah I wanna know too. I am thininking about just the cam, I mean I want to keep the bottom end untouched. can I do that? what kindda gain would that make? if I am only replacing the cam, I won't need to remove the head, right? I know alot about cars, but ATVs are new to me.

the biggest gain u will see will be in the midrange
but mine still has the power to wheelie in ANY gear.......so I don't feel like I lost ANY bottem end.....
heres my review.......same bottom end as stock, Tons of midrange gains, and a lil gain on top
not as much on top as I need, I guess it's a good thing that the stage one is being replaced by the stage two right now

So am i to believe that after pipe and, jet kit a cam is not the next good performance upgrade? Are they hard to put in? What else would you need,, Valves, springs, or, are stock ok?
What is the difference between stage 1 and, 2?

I ran the stage 1 and also ported head and 12.1 piston so it just wasn't the cam by its self but got alot of mid range and a good amount of top but if you drag race you might want to go with the stage 2 for the more top end!

i was told to add a 10.75/1 JE (high Compression) piston with the Stage1 Hot Cam to increase my mid and top range. I just completed the install (as well as an 02 tranny upgrade). Just as soon as i break it in properly...i'll post my opinion on performance.

but it didn't have enough top end for me.......I had to go to the 686 11:1 stage two cam.........
Hopefully I'll like it better......but who knows.....
