Does trailboss have governer ???
#1
I just bought a used trailboss. My boy and I went out for a little topend challenge on the mudflats. Much to my dismay he kicked my butt. He was only on a 86 200 sx honda, I took him of the line but ,I topped out and he went by like I was standing still. It felt like the motor wanted to rev but it just quit pulling. My question is does this have anything to doo with the "electronic throttle"? If not is there something I can do to get more top end?

There is an adjustable limiter under the throttle lever. Check to make sure that's not the problem. It's there if you want to slow the quad down for kids or other inexperienced riders. Also check the condition of the belt and clutches. If this is your first experience with a cvt tranny, get a service manual asap so you can learn how they work and how to set them up. If you're a snowmobiler, you'll be right at home with the Polaris tranny.

There is no limiter on the 325 trailboss. In stock form they are really slow. You can do some mods to make them much faster but stock just about anything can beat it. It is a very good trail quad with good torque but slow.

I was assuming when he said used Trailboss that it was an older 250. All three of my Polaris quads have had the limiter. Why would they do away with that? It's a great feature to keep the kids from getting carried away when they're just learning to ride a full size quad.
