Suzuki LT50 Flywheel
#1
Hi, the flywheel on my daughters LT50 has had one of the magnets come off and break. It is a 1991 model and a new flywheel is really expensive.
Does anyone know if any other Suzuki bikes use the same flywheel so that I would have a better chance of finding a used one from a salvage yard?
Thanks.

If the magnet came off, I suggest you make sure your crankshaft and crank bearings were not the cause or you will be replacing the parts again. Also, you could have damaged the stator when the magnet failed.
I am faily sure that any year LT-50 4 wheeler, LTA-50 3 wheeler or JR-50 will work.

The crank bearings are o.k. but that is a good point about the stator, it appears to have a cut in it. I have checked for electrical continuity across the terminals of the stator, and there is none, is this right?
Pardon my ignorance, but is the stator the crescent shaped thing just behind the flywheel? (I have limited mechanical knowledge and I am English - some parts are called different names).
Thanks for your help.
