OK, WHICH ONE WILL WIN FLAT-OUT IN A RACE? WE HAD THIS CONVERSATION EARLIER but he said my 440ex would win only because of the MODS but lets se who would win with both vehicles being COMPLETLY STOCK NO MODS STOCK EVERYTHING

Considering the z400 beats the scrambler 500 stock, and the z400 is said to be faster then the 400ex. I would say the Scambler would most likely take it, and if it didn't it would be a close race, it really could be either.

I had a brand new 99 500 HO Scrambler , A friend had a new 400 EX .
We lined up on a 100 yard strip , the Honda easily beat the 500 Scrambler HO , it wasn't much of a race . The Honda had me by about 6 bike lengths.
Both these bikes were new and stock .

I think it mainly depends on the rider. Seems odd that the honda won by that much. I have a Sport 400 and I've beaten my cousins modded 400ex (pipe, jets) by quite a bit and my Sport is all stock. One of my friends has a new Scrambler 500 and I can beat him, but that's only because I jump him off the line. I don't really pull on him through the length of the race.

The rider weight differed by 60 pounds or so in favor of the honda .
I think I was riding the Polaris right , about all you can do is open the throttle up . (Spurring it like a horse doesn't seem to help) :-)
It was just very clear that the Honda would out accellerate my 500 Scrambler . The 60 pound weight advantage in favor of the Honda even if corrected still would not have been enough to get the Polaris out front .
