WB E-Series vs. Supertrapp IDS2
#1
After many months of researching silencers for my 2000 400ex I have narrowed down my options to the WB E-Series (slip-on) and the Supertrapp IDS2 (slip-on). I have heard many good things on each pipe. But what I need to know is which one to go with. If anyone has one of these pipes I would like to hear your insite on it. Like which is the quietest, most reliable, and better performing?
I want it to be not to loud (under or around 100db) and for it to last a long time.
Thanks so much for your time and advice.

Well, I'm in the same boat as you, but am trying to decide on either the E-Series slip-on or the entire Pro Meg version with head pipe. If sound is a problem though, I can tell you that the E-Series is loud as heck when running all 12 supplied discs...but only a little louder than stock when running only 4 (the minimum you can run). WB also sells a quiet core insert, but if you're gonna run with the insert "and" 4-7 discs, you're probably better off sticking with the stock pipe when comparing hp vs noise. As far as it lasting a long time, I had an E-Series on my Warrior, and was very impressed with how it fit and the overall quality of the pipe.

I recently installed the full WB Pro-Meg with header pipes system on my 400 and am extremely pleased with the performance so far. I honestly don't think it's too loud but I don't have any idea how many decibles it is. In fact I just ordered 12 more discs to put on it, even my Banshee owning buddy likes the throaty four stroke sound that comes out of it.

out of the 2 pipes the ids-2 is a little quiter
i have the ids-2 and i really like it, went to the p.a. porker run i was the only person that had it of the quads that i seen. is your bike stock or modified. if it is stock and your looking for bottom end power run 8 disc in it.
the more disc the more top end and less bottom end you have. probaly the same way for the e-series. i run 14 disc in mine its a little modified. the pipe sounds really good!!
99 426ex,11:1,port job,web cam,rev box,k/n,dyno jet kit,6 air box vents,ids-2 super trapp pipe,
14 tooth front sprocket = power

When I got an E-Series for my Warrior, the instructions that came with it said I probably wouldn't need to rejet if just adding the pipe when running 7 discs. The instructions for a E-Series for a 400EX may be different, but I did have to change the main on my Warrior...think I went up two sizes. Once I got the jetting dialed in when running 7 discs...then I could add or delete discs without seriously affecting the jetting.

I am using the Supertrapp IDS2 and I love it. I am running with 15 discs, 155 main, K&N w/outerwear, 17 1/2" holes in the airbox, Wiseco 10:1 with XR400 head gasket (143 PSI in the gauge), 450/451 WEB cam, WB rev kit, and match ported intake and exhaust. I USED to have a FMF Powercore IV but like the power, sound , and quality of the IDS2 better.
