Default P650 axle housing leaking???

I just noticed the same thing on my 03 P650. It appears to be leaking gear oil around the seal located on the left side of the axle (where the axel meets the rear end housing). I am going to take my to the dealer tomorrow to get it fixed. I'll try to remember to report back and let you know exactly what the problem is after they fix it.

By the way, I noticed the 04 P700 comes with a black cover around the rear axle seals (on both sides). I imagine that Kaw. got wise to the potential for leaks and put this cover on to prevent similar problems on the P700. My only question is whether these black covers can be installed on a P650. Anyone know the answer to that?

As a side note, I am very nervous that this repair may not be covered under my factory 6mo warranty b/c my bill of sale accurately shows that I bought the P650 new on May 2nd (meaning the warranty expires Nov 2nd), but the Kaw. warranty card they sent me in the mail says that my warranty expires Nov 28th (2 days ago!!!). I hope they correct this paperwork so that I can get this repaired under warranty. Wish me luck!
