opps


my buddy just got a 2001 raptor and was wondering what to watch for ?

the dealer we got it from told us about the one way starter problem and threw in the parts to fix it.

took about 2 hours but we replaced those parts. anything else to watch for

symptoms or signs of problems ?

The tranny will, almost definetly, go out if it has not already been repaced with a 2002-up gear set. Go to www.raptortranny.com and they will tell you everything you need to know.

 

some people still have 01 raptors with original trannies. but it is something to watch out for.

 

Im one with the original tranny, Whats wrong with them and why are they going out? I just got the rappy 3-4 months ago and dont want to put $$$$$ into a tranny.

My 01 is going strong. I didnt buy it new so im not sure if its already been replaced.

 

Is it a Possibility that they are replaced before being resold? I got mine from a dealer so i would doubt it.

Im hoping mine has been replaced already. Or I might just be lucky and never have the problem lol.

 

lol i hear ya... i hope i never have the problem because mine is insanly fast for stock but i do put my ATV through some tuff stuff. Ill have pictures soon.

I think the gear dogs are weak or something like that, I can't describe it in words.

By the way, I'm 16 and have my Raptor and definetly agree with you guys, life is good!
