Default Honda extended warranty

Getting ready to by either a 2004 rancher ES, 4x4 or 4X4 ES (Haven't decided yet). Should I pay that extra 600.00 bucks, I will mostly be a weekend rider except during hunting season.

I got a 42 month extension for my 2003 Foreman 450ES. I paid $440 at Abernathy, where I bought the ATV.

I just purchased a rubicon and paid 475 for a 42 mth extension, I was quoted 450 at another dealer but the rubicon was more $. I think its cheap insurance, no deductable and no milage limits.

I guess my dealer is trying to rip me off pretty good... I can't get him to budge from the 5,099.00 msrp price either. Dealers in Va are very tight..

Go to another dealer. At Abernathy the Foreman 450ES is only $4,799 out the door. The Rubicon is $5,399 out the door.

I agree with BSA, find another dealer. By shopping I saved $700 on my rubicon when compared to what the local dealer would sell it for. Same story wouldnt budge from 6799. There is a 500 dealer incentive right now on the 03 rubicon so would be making 300.00 on top of full retail. The dealer needs to make some profit to keep the doors open but I think thats a little ridicouls, I wasnt trying to grind him to down to cost just trying to be fair for both parties involved. For 10.00 you can get the dealer cost online.

they will negotiate the warrenty but I don't think its a good idea. I bought one for my 400ex and it was just a big waste of money I never needed it. Plus if you do motor mods you void it

I just think that an extended warranty is another gimmick to get more of your money. It would be good if you could get it thrown into the deal. You have to balance the chance of something happening that would exceed the original cost. It wouldn't cover things like the valve adjustments or everyday little things. (unless faulty) Then if you try to use it, you have to prove that you didn't do anything wrong and it was actually a Honda flaw that caused the problem. You should ask if the warranty would be void if you changed things like tire size, jets, lift it or whatever. I ran my Recon for about 2 1/2 years with no problems. (Except a dealer error found within the first 3 days of ownership.) It would come down to which model was being bought. I would probably feel better with an extended warranty if I was buying a new Rancher AT or Rincon. Just because the Rancher AT is so new and my neighbor has had a few problems with his Rincon. I think Honda should just supply at least a 2 year warranty like they do in the UK. UK 2 yr.

Take a look here GARVIS HONDA or call 888-352-9182, I personally buy extended warranties on all my "major" purchases like cars, trucks, boats, ATV's etc.. but this is my opinion. I like to think of it as an insurance policy just in case. Go to GARVIS HONDA and e-mail Kevin, he is running a very good deal on extended warranties and a great person to do business with. I am in no way affiliated with them nor do I receive any compensation for mentioning them.

I paid less than $ 300 for the 42 month extended Honda warranty.
