Default knocking noise

I recently purchased a used 2000 500cc auto cat. Only 250 miles on it. The dealer said his dad owned it. There is a knocking noise comming from the right side of the machine when I start to accelerate. It then goes away. He says that its the clutch, and that all artic cats make that noise. Its the first Automatic that I've owned and I'm not sure if I should believe him. Anyone familiar with this so called clutch knocking?

Default knocking noise

i have a02 375 auto 4x4 that does the same thing i have 360 miles on it and it seems to be going away or im getting used to the sound i took it back to the dealer they said the same as yours. some of the other folks on this forum say that the nut holding the pulley on was not torqued right from the factory so i'm going to pull the cover off mine and check it . with that said i have not had any belt slippage got plenty of power i've even tied up with my brother on his 350 honda and had a pulloff did it with no problems it just makes the groweling noise on the right side can hear whenits just sitting there when i hit the gas or put it under a load it goes away kinda weird sounding huh?
