Default big bore kit for arctic cats

I have decided chacing horsepower through air filter and exhaust would be minimal, I am happy with my overall chasis. Is there a production bog-bore kit for this suzuki 280cc motor? Could a good machine shop do something? Any thoughts on going straight to a big bore kit, versus re-jetting, exhaust, air filter?

i would say DO IT ALL! I mean if you can. I dont think anyone makes a pipe so you would have to gut yours, and I dont know if anyone makes a jet kit for it. i put one on my 400i and it helped alot (the jet kit). I would go to the big bore kit if you could (if you can get one) because if they are as underpowered as I have heard, it will take alot to get power from it.

why would you bother with such a small motor unless this motor is a two stroke I wouldn,t bother throwing money away why don,t you look into a bigger motor to slip in and then do it up thats my thought for the day

Big bore kits are $295 for piston, sleeve and head gasket to make it to a 315cc motor.

mickey dunla, thats my point, I knwo there is a kit out there, who makes it where do I get it etc? Is this gonna be a direct bold on or am I gonna need major carb and exhaust work after this?

Manmudcat, the reason I care so much is I liek the chassis. I have ridden several other bikes, and this bike is as nice as any. Just needs more pep. If there is a kit out there to do this then thats the rought I will go. I rosted this topic to better understand my options .....all my options one of them being If I deem this to big of a venture is liek you said to see the old 300 and go bigger, but I like her to much than to jsut give up on her so fast.

It's my kit and I would just put it in and go up 1 or 2 sizes on the main jet if needed.
