Default Eliminating Raptor Airbox ?

Hey I havn't posted inawhile but I have this little spot in my rpm its around 1000 where its kinda dead and then it picks up if i push it in a while. Its like theres this little spot where if I give it more gas it still goes the same speed and then it will pick up. I am thinking its not getting enough air but anyway I was thinking of getting out the dremel tomorrow. Then cut up my stock air box so that there is no box just the plastic peice in the front to hold the filter. I run with no lid right now and I thought if I got rid of the box I would get more air but I am not sure. Also I was wondering since the header is so close it might give it hot air and slow it down.

I have a K&N filter and 146/148 jets. I use the DynoJet stage 2 kit with their pilots.

Ok good just making sure, because if you dont use the Proflow kit that holds the K&N in place you might be at risk for alot of damage... EXPENSIVE DAMAGE lol. You might need to re-do your jetting. Im not really sure whats going on. I guess i will bump it up for you. Sorry

I did that to mine a while ago and it works great for me! The only negative is that it makes it a pain in the royal a$$ to jet! Don't expect that dead spot to go away and if it does you'll prolly have another one somewhere. That was my problem then when I finally took it to a dyno they figured out how to jet it properly. Good luck.

Did you have your airbox in with no lid on and the cut it and have to rejet. What I mean is if I cut mine, will I have to rejet ? Also why do I have the deadspot, could it have anything to do with backpressure, I drilled someholes in the baffle down in the stock exhaust pipe. I also took the arrestor screen off. Lol I know its cheap but I am not spending 400 for a whole new exhaust system right now, even though its worth it. I kinda have a sleeper here and you cant really tell but when I put the holes in the exhaust it gave it alot more bottom end. What a difference.
