what do all of you use in a DS650? mines a 2001 so it's broke in pretty good. i used mobile red top in my dirt biikes, or was it green top? i'd have to look at one of the bottles to make sure. do any of you run full syn or will it cause trouble with the clutches?

how often do you change your oil to? i ride in a dusty area most of the time. i used to change my yz426 every ride or at least every other ride because i was turning some high rpms and ran it pretty hard. but then again i have a habbit of hitting the rev limiter on the DS.

to be safe for clutch, look for motorcycle specific oil with JASO MA rating.

hey thanks ther scooby! come on everyone. i'm sure there are different opinions on which oil.do any of you use mobile1? i've always had good luck with it in my dirt bikes but the is my first quad and i have never messed with a rotax before. i could stick with the factory oil, if there is one? when i owned my triumph daytona i used the factory oil which was around $7 a quart from the dealer until i found out it was just mobile, even said it in tiny print on the bottom of the bottle.

i run red line 20-50 it's a full syntheic. i know you will hear ir will work the clutch. at this point hasn't been a issue, but i can change a clutch in about a hour, and the lower end puts me out of riding for a while. i take off at a pretty good rpm range (7000) so i think it would show.

There are alot of us that run castrol gtx 10w40 and 20w-50. I run 10w40 and it works great! I change the oil frequently with no problems! And its very inexpensive!

I use Valvoline for Street bikes 20w-50. It seems to work really well! I pounded my clutch the last few times I went out and I still haven't seen any signs of slippage.

thanks! i think i will try the castrol. i run royle purple in my street bike but it has some additives that could cause the clutch to slip. the dealer i bought the quad from had know idea what was in it so i'm making a fresh start. i plan on installing a stroker kit next year and will install the barnett clutches i bough then.
