My recon has about 425 hours on it and the valves have never been touched, runs great.
There is two drain plugs on the recon. One on the bottom and you will see this one and the other is in the back and I use this one because there is less mess. I jack the front end up and pull the drain plug and let her drain all night. The one on the bottom for myself creates a huge oil sliclk mess but you might not care about that.

Eventually, you might want to clean it out (the screen) but I wouldn't worry about it for a while. I'd just change the oil. I always used the bottom drain and it did make somewhat of a mess, especially with the skid installed.
I still don't know if I should bother with my valves. I don't think I'll mess with them unless it begins to start hard. I'm going to buy a manual so I can do the valves myself. My Recon would start hard so I wonder if it needed the valves adjusted. It started hard since I bought it though. It's not cheap to have a dealer adjust the valves. I was quoted something like $160. including oil change.
After awhile you might want to clean and re-oil your air filter.

Coyotechaser,
Maybe yours did need adjusting but mine always has started pretty easy and when its warm the choke isn't needed, mine is garaged.

The difference between my Foreman and my Recon is like night and day. The Recon didn't seem to choke right. It didn't rev up like it seems like it should have. If I choked it in the winter, I had to find just the right spot for it to stay running. Most of the time I had to just sit there with my thumb on the gas. It did happen from day one though. I'm not saying it's a Recon thing, just a my Recon thing.
So far everything works as it should on my Foreman. Starts really easy. I keep mine in my neighbors outhouse. You know people won't go in there to steal a quad. Smells too much!
