Can someone walk me through the steps for wiring a autometer tach to a shee?

I have never seen an analog style tach on a Shee. I know you can put a tach on a 2 stroke, but I think you may have to have a battery. The reason I say this is because I have a couple of friends, as well as one that I have, that have old enduro two stroke dirt bikes with analog tachomters, and they all have batterys. The guy that runs the drag strip at LS has a battery system on his banshee to run his strobes and nitrous solenoids, maybe you could go this route. Do you happen to know if there is an anologe tach with its own battery supply.
