Default Raptor lock-up clutch

How many people would be intrested in having a lock-up clutch on there Raptor? There is nothing available right now, but that might change come Monday. I am trying to get some kind of count so when I talk to the guy I can give him some kind of # of people intrested.

Anybody?

It a mod done to keep your clutch from slipping. It use weight on the clutch basket to pull itself together when ever the RPMs increase, so the need for super stiff springs is also eliminated.

How much are we talking? Also, can you ride normally with the lock-up? What I mean is, will I have to change any of my current riding habits?

I don't know a price yet, but its not a super cheap mod. It requires having to mod your clutch cover to make room for the lock out mechanism on the out side of the clutch basket. As far as I know this will be the first one so that may add to the expense as well.

As far as riding habits goes, not really. It makes it where your clutch won't slip, or only a set amount of slip. I am not an expert on them, but I know I need something to keep my clutch together before it breaks again.

i dont know if it would use the same principles as the banshees lockout but the only time you benefit with using one on a banshee is when you have around 80+ horsepower!!! any less than that your robbing power from your self by using one

I knew it wouldn't take you long Ward before the lock-up clutch issue was discussed.

In my opinion I don't think you could do any normal riding unless your riding consists of wide open launches. My .02 worth

bad350twin, I know of a few people who have shattered fibers on more than one occasion. I don't really know of any other way to keep this from happening. I don't think any of them are pushing 80 hp, I know I am not.

Ernie, I may be misunderstanding how a lock up works then. I didn't realise you would have to start at wide open throttle. I do that most of the time, but I don't know if I really want to be required too.

I broke one of my stock fibers and my stock basket when I was just piped and jetted. I would race pass after pass, though. I didn't really know when to give 'er a break.
