As a rule of thumb - I change all my lubes and grease the quad all at the same time - that way you don't have to wonder when it is time to do what. I use the polaris stuff in the hubs, but aftermarket repair manuals say you can substitute the hub oil with automatic transmission fluid (??). It is a good idea to check the hub fluid (as well as the other fluids) before each ride - if you clean your quad after every ride like I do, you might not notice a little seeping of the hubs, resulting in an eventual dry hub.

Maintenance is cheaper in the long run than major repairs.

The manual says every 100 hours. But that stuff gets dirty real quick. I change it about twice a year. It doesn't really hold much in there. You can substitue the Polaris stuff for ATF Type F or Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF (which is what I use)

A warning for when you HAVE TO change it: if you are driving and the bike jerks to the left or right (feels like you hit a big rock) then change the fluid ASAP. This happened to me and I replaced with Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF and it solved the problem.

And it is best to take the end cap off and jack up the opposite side to help it drain. A lot of dirty fluid will stay on the inside if you just use the fill screw. It only holds a couple of tablesppons so fill it up a little at at time and roll the hub till 4 'oclock; don't fill past that.

If you are concerned about it(the front fluid),,,,just change it.

Like BigBadScrambler said,,,twice a year is fine,,,and use the 'Mobil 1 synthetic ATF'.

drain the fluid (even tilting the bike,,,as someone mentioned) fill the fluid (to 4 oclock),,,,then ride a little,,,,and then change again(to clean it out a little).

fill the little hole (in the upright position),,,and then drain,,,in the 4 o-clock position, and plug.

As someone already said,,,,,,,,just do the hubs when you do the rest of the fluids.

it literally takes 4 minutes,,,with all things ready.
