Default Raptor shifter bending

I am having troubles with the stock shifter on my Raptor. I noticed I have been missing 3rd or it was just hard to shift into it. Today I was moving it and noticed the shifter is now digging into the side of the Tranmission case and is bent on the tip. I have been hunting new shifters and came across Roll Design shifters. What does roll design mean? I noticed the pictures do not have the linkage. I can imagine anything but stock is much sturdier but I am wondering what my options are. I bent the stock one back out but I know I will probably bend it back in a few rides. Can anyone hwlp me out?

Do it...Do it...Do it..!!! Get the Roll Design Shifter. I had the same problem with my stock shifter. I switched to the Roll Design Direct Shifter and it not only made the shifting smoother, it eliminates all the crappy linkage that comes with the stocker.....

I got the cheap IMS shifter and love it, shifting is WAYY easier and since it gets rid of the linkage bind you will shift faster. Plus its only $20.

caliraptor,

Where did you get the IMS shifter for $20? I assume it is just the steel one, correct?

Thanks for the info

My stocker bends too. Why does Yamaha put the linkage if you don't need it?

Cali, did you find a billet or chrome one for 20 or, an ugly steel one? f the latter, how much for a nice billet one?

I got the Pro Design billet aluminum, works great, it's about an inch longer than the stock one which makes it easier to get your foot under it, especially if you wear riding boots.

The IMS is great and has a nice finish. I think I only paid sixty bucks for it. Not bad. Now I don't have to hammer it into the gears, just a nice soft lift of the toe does the trick.

I ordered the Pro Design Billet shifter on Thursday. Should have it by this Thurs. or Friday. I can't wait to try it out. I've had problems with 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears with the stock shifter. For some reason it just doesn't want to shift sometimes. I was told this shifter eliminates the linkage and it will shift much better now. I hope it does. It thing wasn't cheap. I think I paid around $65 for it.
