R50 is the synthetic stuff isn't it? I never liked the smell of 2-strokes until I went to synthetic. (probably the only diff besides $9 a quart!)

I think Chanel makes a pre-mix oil called Eau de Burned Piston. It gets women and goats pretty hot as I understand it.

In reply to the question, what about Castrol 2-stroke oil? It kind of smells like *** model airplane engines burning. Is this different than the smell you are describing?

 

What your smelling is probably the race gas and not the oil although caster oil does make a sweet odor. Elf makes a real strong smelling race gas, and so does Klotz.

I ran maxima in my cr80 back in the day it smelled great. It smelt like race gas. anyways I liked it. later

 

I'm sorry, I just can't help but laugh, imagining everyone with their nose stuck up their exhaust pipe smelling the exhaust fumes. I know that's not what you meant, but it is sort of funny.

Anyway, the coolest smelling 2 cycle mix I have ever smelled is when I was still racing 125cc McCullogh engines on go-karts. The mix of methanol and Blendzall Castor, AH! Brings back memories!
