Bleeding brake lines
#1
I got new steel braided front brake lines and a friend and I worked for at least 30 minutes pumping the brakes and opening the valve down on the rotor with the brake held in over and over and still haven't completely bled them so that it always shoots out the fluid... Is there any other trick or something to make this process easier or faster? Its taking so long I'm beginning to wonder if its working.

... did you get hoses and attach them to your valve, then run the hose into a cup of brake fluid, and bleed them that way? Thats how we did it, took about 30 minutes or so. My dad helped so I don't know the exact proccess

First loosen the screws on the rezzy on the bars. Break the seal, but leave the lid on.. Pull the lever to the grip and wrap it w/ tape, ziptie, bungee cord, whatever. Walk away and let it sit overnight. In the morning release bungee, ziptie or whatever and pump 20 or so times and pull the lever to the grip again and tape, tie or whatever again. Don't shake the bars and spill fluid on your plastic. Come home from work release the ziptie, bungee, whatever and tighten up the screws on the rezzy and your done. You're bleeding the brakes in reverse w/ no mess and no waste of fluid.. It will get EVERY single air bubble out!!! Make sure the bleeder valves on the discs are closed before you do any of this. Air will come out wherever it is allowed, and it's allowed to come out the rezzy on top......

Hey Sandtrax thanks for the bleeder offer... turns out a friend had one where I work so he came over and sure enough 15 mins later the job was done.
I have a few friends that I ride with regularly we mostly like to hit the places that occra (check out www.occra.com) races on but one of my buddies has alot of land in choctaw where he has blazed out some really top notch trails. I'm sure the south canadian river is back up since its been so rainy lately but that river is a fun place to ride most of the summer since its dried out and just one big sandy highway. You can even get on it there in Norman near a Loves where a bridge crosses the river... can't remember if its I-35 or I-44 (my buddies and I usually get on the river near Tuttle since one of them lives there).
Depending on the weather next sunday we are going to a place in Anadarko... the Coors winter series is going to race there later this year and the only real serious racer of my regular rider friends wants to check it out. If you ever want to hook up with us (usually only 3 or 4 at the most of us) just email me at iryoolan@yahoo.com. Just beware we are mostly all around 30 (some a little under some a little over) so we tire out easy
