Default Sportsman 700 Vs. Grizzly 660?

Just curious, do any of you ride with a 660. Is it faster than a SP 600/700? My freind is getting a Grizz 660 and I want to know if he will be able to school me.

Hell no he wont school you.The guy I ride with all the time rides a panda O sorry grizz.Anyway yes he beats me in every time we drag race but I go 290lbs and hes about 180lbs and he still dont beat me that bad.I asket my riding buddy why at an atv pull do they wiegh the quads up to all wiegh the same.To make it fair right.Right so I told him let put 250lbs of sand bags on the racks of your grizz and drag race. And just like when I ask him to hook them back to back he said no way...So if your buddy thinks hes going to school you just head stright for the mud....

typical sp owner reply. 290-180 is only about one hundred pounds there bud, not 250. A grizzly would eat that hulky machine and spit it out!!! with a smaller displacement. Try this topic in a yamaha forum, see the response.

the Sp will beat out the Grizz in acceleration for the first 100 ft or so then the grizz will pass you up having a lil bit higher mid range power and top end speed. i would still go with the polaris because it has more power smoother riding and can go through mud alot better then the grizz. the grizz is also very unstable.

The only "race" that I ever had was against a grizzly and it turned out as 500HO above stated. But as for power and mudding/H2O the 700 will be towing when it comes to the good stuff. The grizz is not like those alaskan grizz's at salmon spawning season.

I think what bill was talking about is, with him on the SP700 he is 250lbs heavier then the guy on the Grizz. He weighs 110lbs more then his friend, then the 700 weighs 140lbs more then the Grizz. Giving a total weight of 250lbs. That's how it is done on some ATV Pulls, all the atv's with rider weigh the same.

My buddy bought the grizzly the same day I bought my 700. He goes about 100# more than me. Right from day one he has beaten me off the line. When we drag it takes me a couple hundred yards to get by him. I run away on top end. I have modded my exhaust and added a heelclicker to try and gain off the line. SO the moral is he has a stock machine and a couple hundred bucks more in his pocket and still beats me off the line. The times I have ridden his wheeler I really didn't like the hard seat and the rolly feel to the whole ride.
