REVERSE GEAR. Do you need one.

I'm in the market for a new sport quad, leaning towards the kfx400 since it has a reverse gear, the yz450r is my other choice but it doesn't have the reverse. Does anybody think that i should just ditch the kfx and just go for the yz450r with no reverse? Now i know that i wont be using the yz's performance all out but i just love the styling.

For me, reverse isn't necessary, but it sure is nice to have sometimes. The YFZ is 50 lbs. lighter, so that might be a consideration if you have to turn it around by hand.

reverse is a great option. when you are riding and get cornered, you can turn around with out getting off the bike. i have been on trail rides and the one guy that did not have reverse was off his bike all the time. we all joked every time. some times we went to areas that we knew he would have to get off to turn around. this was all in fun. (he was not that good a rider).

it's nice.... it helps getting out of the mud... tight spots, etc. etc...
otherwise, I have to get off my fat @$$ and pull and tug myself.... not too bad once in a while... but when you're riding in really challenging terrirtory with 4x4's... I'd love to have reverse

I use it a ton. That's one of the reasons that I got the Warrior in the first place. I ride almost nothing but trails. I wouldn't need it as often as I do, but I ride with 4x4 type riders. They love the mud. So yeah, I doubt I would but one these days if it didn't have reverse.
