Has anyone put the high comression piston in there 450 yet?? If so then how much gain did you see?? Was it all on bottom end?? Do you have to run 50/50race gas? Or do you have to run 100% race fuel?? Thank You

 

It already has 11.9/1......... If you go higher then 100 octane is plenty...

 

Im talking about the 13:1 compression piston from Yamaha GYT-R kit??

 

You can read about a 12:1 470cc kit that does more then a 13:1 std bore and still runs on pump gas in the Feb. or March Dirtwheels.

 

Mr. Selector put the 13-1 piston in his, I think at the same time also did the cam mod and a pipe. So I couldn't say on the piston itself, but I rode that set up and WOW did it work.

 

Hmmm......How much does the 470 Kit run comapard to the 13:1 Kit?? I just want to get alittle more out of my quad

 

Well the 13-1 "kit" is just a piston, gaskets and labor to install. The 470 is going to be the same plus boring out or sleeving, whatever it takes to get that many more cubes.

 

I'm running the 13:1 in mine and i run pure race fuel. VP motorsport 103 unleaded 99 octane. The power is all the way through the curve. you could run vp c12 and mix it, but the key is to get right
at around 100 octane for the 13:1.

 

there are alot of us doing the 470 kit now. but the kit is incomplete without the porting.

 

i was pretty sure that selector was running a 467 bore. at least, he was after it blew up on him.
