I havent personally, but my buddy who races pro am (i run amatuer). His tensioner was totally gone and it made a horrible racket. He said something about the guide going bad too, but this quad is definietly abused.

I replaced both guides, both cams (hot cams) and crank sprocket and added a 1/4" longer button on the end of my factory tentioner, And I got 9months out of the last chain, prior to that I was only getting 3 months. I bought this 4 wheeler in aug/2002 and I recently put the 4th chain in it. Suzuki replaced the whole top end when the first chain failed, stretched so bad it jumped time and the piston hit the valves and they broke off and destroyed the top end, this was 2 days short off having it 3 months.

my buddies went on his with in 2 months.. they opened up the motor at the shop and said parts were missing... but ive heard of this problem in a lot of them up here at the races.

I haven't had any trouble out of my tentioner, but I had a machine shop make me a new button for the nose of my tentioner 1/4" longer to take up more slack from the chain. This has helped but did not fix the problem.
