ive read a couple of these forums and read that the recon and 250ex have the same motor. i remember reading something on the honda site stating that they just have the same cylinder head. i just wasnt sure and wanted to clarify if its the same engine of whatever

After the 250EX came out, Honda changed the Recon to 250EX specs. I can't remember the specifics, but as I recall, it has higher compression, improved valve angles, etc.
