Thanks for bringing that link up.
That is amazing. I remember front chain driven models from the late sixties to the early seventies ( can't remember the manufacture ) but nothing like this and hydraulic to boot.
I can't even imagine a sport bike having this capacity. WOW

Yep. There's a guy (forget his name) that was a big desert racer (PtoD) that has done some serious R&D on these hydraulic units. I do not recall who he was testing/developing them for though - it's been a while.

Excellent link!
Suzuki also had a prototype back in the early 90s of a 2WD dirt bike. I don't remember the name but I know it was code named somthing "duck" it never made it to production though.

I've been following this for a while now.....(pretty popular right now on the dirt bike forums).
sounds like it will be nice....also looks like it could be a pain to maintain....But people who have tested it say it cut much time off their laps....allowing much better tracking through the corners.... Seems to me it would make for a heavy front end. But they say you can hardly tell it's there.

I saw a write-up on it circa 94' in a popular dirt bike magazine(not sure if I can list the name or not ) Then too it was Ohlins that was working on it. It was a 94' Yz250 with the device affixed to it. Sounds cool. Should be interesting.

How about applying that design to quads?! that would be coolness. looks much lighter than anything on todays 4X4. seems more like an AWD type of system. the key there would be to allow the front wheels to slip in the corners. to avoid the pushing effect like 4x4's.
i've got AWD on my 4runner and Highlander. i'll never buy another vehicle without it. AWD has come along way in automobiles.
