AXLE BEARING FOR A V DURABLUE??
#1
ive got a 2+2 durablue ordered for my bike.the problem is finding an axle bearing to go on it.the shop manual says not to remove the stock bearing so i need to get one and get this, kawi doesnt sale the bearing for the axle.the service guy at my dealer called them and they dont carry the bearing seperate.so i guess if the bearing goes bad you have to buy the whole axle.has anyone replaced their axle yet and if so what did you do about the bearing?i would try to reuse the stock bearing but if i mess it up then ill really need one.

I am facing the same issue. What I am going to do is to bring the old axle / bearing (the whole thing so I don't have to remove the bearing) to a place where my company buys bearings and get them to find onw that will work. Keep in mind that Kawi doesn't make bearings, so it will be relatively easy to find a match. They use off the shelf bearings like everyone else. You may want to buy a couple or write down the bearing number so you don't have to go through this if you have to change the rear end bearings or axle again.
Good luck and let me know how it works out for you. I will do the same.

i would call pbr and ask them then as they helped them with that axle. he could tell you were to get the bearing.

I tried to get a replacement front wheel bearing for my P650 at a number of bearing houses/industrial suppliers and was told that the number came up as "OEM Only" and that I had no choice but to buy it from thre manufacturer. Unfortunately, Kawi thinks the things are made from gold given the price that they charge for the bearings. Good luck in finding a cross reference.

There is more than one way to skin a cat though. All you have to do is mic the ID, OD, width and count the number of ***** and go to a bearing company and they can sell you one to meet those specs.
